Mississauga residents will soon have a new option for yoga practice.
Modo Yoga has announced the opening of a new studio at 2225 Erin Mills Parkway, located in Sherwood Village (formerly known as Sheridan Centre), set to launch this summer.
“We’re excited to bring Modo Yoga Erin Mills to the newly revitalized Sherwood Village,” the yoga franchise shared on Instagram. “Get ready for a cutting-edge, eco-friendly space where mindfulness, movement, and community connect.”
Originally launched in Toronto in 2004 as Moksha Yoga, Modo Yoga specializes in hot yoga — practiced in rooms heated to around 38°C with high humidity. These conditions help improve flexibility and promote detoxification through a structured sequence of poses.
The company began franchising in Canada in 2005 and expanded into the U.S. by 2008. They introduced flow yoga in 2010 and rebranded as Modo Yoga in 2018. Today, they offer a range of classes including power yoga, yin yoga, and pilates fusion.
This upcoming Erin Mills studio will mark Modo Yoga’s return to Mississauga, following the closure of their Square One location in summer 2020 due to financial challenges brought on by the pandemic.
