A man from Brampton has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was randomly attacked and stabbed in Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police report that the “unprovoked” assault occurred around 6:30 p.m. on May 10, shortly after the woman got off a bus near Eglinton Avenue and Hurontario Street.
According to police, a man followed the woman and attacked her with a knife, leaving her with “near fatal” injuries. She was rushed to the hospital and is now in stable condition.
Investigators believe the stabbing was random, with no prior connection between the suspect and the victim.
On May 12, police arrested 30-year-old John Ralph Nuthalapti of Brampton. He is now facing a charge of attempted murder.
