A woman is in critical condition following a stabbing at a busy intersection in central Mississauga.

According to Peel Police, the incident took place around 6:30 p.m. on May 10 at Hurontario Street and Eglinton Avenue West.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and provided aid to the woman.

Authorities are currently searching for a male suspect believed to be connected to the incident.

No description of the suspect has been released, and the motive for the attack remains unclear.

Police are reviewing local surveillance footage and are urging anyone with dash cam or cellphone video to come forward.
